Received the latest update today and after that I decided to fly the Me-262 in carreer mode, a thing I am doing now for quite a while. After about five minutes in flight the canopy of the Me-262 blew off. Since I am using a new X-56 Hotas I thought... may be a setting of a button, but no... Tried a second time and... off it went. What is going on...?

Regards,

Does not happen in Quick mission... tried it again in carreer mode... for the third time... about ten minutes in flight and huppa... canopy gone. In straight forward flight, following leader.

I fly in expert mode, except for allowing spectators what makes it a custom setting...

Record a track of this happening and upload it along with the mission file, if you can. Maybe someone can diagnose the issue.

Just discovered something. Changed the HOTAS command, which was a toggle switch, for opening and closing the canopy to RALT + C and flew the mission again. Exceeded 600 km/hr several times, manoeuvred at lot and sometimes even violently to avoid Spits. Nothing happened... flew the mission until I was hit by debris of a shot down B-25. Canopy stayed on for certainly fifteen minutes into mission until crash. Can a toggle switch on a HOTAS be that sensitive a slight tremble can activate it? Weird... I will try to complete the mission and see what happens...

Anyway, RedKestrel, thanks for the advice. Will do what you suggest if the issue keeps occurring.

I have noticed that if debri hits a 109's canopy that it will often fall off as well. I have not observed any issue with the 262 though.

The nice thing is if you record a track then you can play it back around the time the canopy flew off and look at the canopy ejection latches or whatever the 262 has and see if they get moved or if the canopy just falls off on its own. That will tell you whether the game is seeing input from the canopy release button OR if something else is causing the canopy to fly off.

This makes me think to set the HOTAS toggle switch back to its original setting and see what happens. I will make a record of it. Fact is, since I changed the command for opening and closing the canopy to RAlt + C, it behaves normally again.

I had reset the Hotas toggle switch and tried out everything in career mode, but everything was working well. Of course, since the canopy incident, I received an update or two in the meantime. To be sure I changed the open/close canopy command back to a keyboard combination (RAlt + C) and back again to the TGL-1 switch on the throttle part of the X-56, but no... the canopy doesn't come off again...

Very weird... but problem solved so...???
