SOLIDKREATE Posted April 28, 2014 Posted April 28, 2014 (edited) So, recently the Devil (War Thunder) started letting us make skins. They are similar to BoS which are 2048 x 2048. Anyway this is what could be done when the release .PSD's and skin compiling tools. BTW the uploader is going crazy. It says "Max single file size is 5MB". But when I try and upload 400 KB it says that it's to big? Here's another Edited April 28, 2014 by 9./JG54_SPEKTRE76
II./JG27_Rich Posted April 30, 2014 Posted April 30, 2014 OH the Devil's Head 9./JGJG54 Spekter is great ..I like the idea of blacking out the swastika crudely with paint. That way it looks like the pilot has done himself.
SOLIDKREATE Posted April 30, 2014 Author Posted April 30, 2014 Oh the blacking out is not part of the skin. That is a photo edit I did so as to not offend anyone here.
LLv34_Flanker Posted May 1, 2014 Posted May 1, 2014 S! Nice skins. We call those who get offended easily by just about anything "ammattimielensäpahoittaja" Hard to translate but could be something like a professional whiner or something.
SOLIDKREATE Posted May 4, 2014 Author Posted May 4, 2014 Oh these are Warthunder skins Hagar. I cannot take credit for the hard stand. I just wanted to show everyone HD skins that may appear as they do in BoS engine.
FTC_Cule Posted May 13, 2014 Posted May 13, 2014 Will skins be customisable like in 1946? That would be great.
SOLIDKREATE Posted May 13, 2014 Author Posted May 13, 2014 I sure hope so. If not this SIM will die very quickly.

Its history so I don't see why it would offend someone if we forget then it will happen again. I always fly without swastikas as from what I've read not many of the Luftwaffe pilots liked "the party" very much and didn't like having that thing on their tails. OH the Devil's Head 9./JGJG54 Spekter is great ..I like the idea of blacking out the swastika crudely with paint. That way it looks like the pilot has done himself. Some Luftwaffe pilots did that. In 1940 Goring was making a stink about on of the squadron commanders wives being Jewish so he sacked him, so his pilots painted over the swastikas and flew without them all summer long. Goring finally cut them a deal and they put the swastikas back on. Another story I remember is that some black shirts came to a Luftwaffe base in Russia to get some of the pilots who had Jewish heritage. The commandeer threatened to shoot down their Ju-52 if they even thought about taking his pilots. The Luftwaffe and the German military as a whole weren't fans of hitler and his boys and for that I respect the pilots of the Luftwaffe greatly Edited May 13, 2014 by OCTz06z33

I read somewhere that SS officers were there at the base to shoot pilots who refused to fly. When ever I post my work on Facebook I always tell people that I will accept no friendship or endorsements from any nazi/neo dominant race organizations. I merely place them on the plane for accuracy. Our squad fly's without the swastika's on our planes. I had an idea for the planes here in BoS. I wanted to paint the rudders like the Hungarians did only with the black/.white/red Germanic colors. I think this would be an excellent compromise or a small 15mm x 10mm German flag with the adler in the middle dead center on the vertical stabilizer? Edited May 13, 2014 by 9./JG54_SPEKTRE76
Mysticpuma Posted May 13, 2014 Posted May 13, 2014 I wonder if the Wings of prey skins will fit some of the models? https://www.flickr.com/groups/wopskinners/ Cheers, MP

HagarTheHorrible Posted May 13, 2014 Posted May 13, 2014 If airworthy WW2 German aircraft transit or fly displays in Germany do they have to paint out the Swastika if it's present ?
