Blackhawk_FR Posted April 15, 2020 Posted April 15, 2020 Just discovered it while making some tests on DMs, so flying close in the 6 of an AI. To make sure I tried with a light fighter being a He111. Flying behind left wing induced pitch up and roll to the left, and pitch up roll right when behind right wing. Make me think it should be the contrary for the roll. Is it in game since an older update or...?
Elem Posted April 15, 2020 Posted April 15, 2020 Since day one of IL-2. It's a feature of the Digital Nature engine.
Dakpilot Posted April 15, 2020 Posted April 15, 2020 Pretty sure I remember right in the early days being very satisfying to do a nice turn and hit your own wake ? Not sure it features in MP though Cheers, Dakpilot
Blackhawk_FR Posted April 15, 2020 Author Posted April 15, 2020 Never realised it was there... Now I feel stupid. But still the roll should be in the other direction (to the right behind left wingtip and to the left behind right wingtip).
Blackhawk_FR Posted April 15, 2020 Author Posted April 15, 2020 If there is no wake turbulences online that's may be way I never noticed it. 1
Sublime Posted April 15, 2020 Posted April 15, 2020 No idea BUT can confirm that shaking violently from flak (high caliber up high) is in and my a/c has yawed violently when an he111 exploded very close to my p40 passing by.
[APAF]VR_Spartan85 Posted April 16, 2020 Posted April 16, 2020 (edited) There’s no wake turbulence.... it’s prop wash... only in sp mode Like said in other topics..wake turbulence is simulated in dcs and if il2 had it, it would be fantastic Edited April 16, 2020 by [APAF]spartan85

I think it's just visual in multiplayer , and when there is camera shake unselected it's not visible. In real life planes especially very light, were throwing around midair. Even artillery shell passing above or below would push plane downwards or balloon up the plane . This was very dangerous when plane were doing Gs because it would add additional on top of that. Staying on dead 6 behind another plane was not so easy as is now in the multiplayer do to propwash . Edited April 16, 2020 by 1PL-Husar-1Esk
Sublime Posted April 16, 2020 Posted April 16, 2020 Thats fine. But i havent played mp in months All observations of shaking from flak and a violent 'skid' from a he111 blowing up to my close right rear
