SKINNING RESOURCES--Web sites..

 I might be dating myself and I used to spend a lot of time skinning aircraft there was a great website called simmers paint shop which is no longer around is there anything like that out there these days where you can source color chips camo patterns numbers all the kind of things a skinner likes to have on hand?

Skinning is going to cut into your flying time. ?

 

There's nothing like SIMMERS PAINT SHOP around. Nothing that i know of. You can find some useful stuff in this thread:

 

 

 

You can find all the official templates here:

 

 

They are pretty well done and you can use the "skin Viewer" to test your skins with the game engine, without having to start the game. You can find the "viewer" in the :\IL-2 Sturmovik Great Battles\bin\viewer folder. That's if you try to skin aircraft.

The tanks are not integrated into the Viewer and tank skinning is a heck of a lot more time consuming. Lots of small parts, spread in two 4k textures. :wacko:

Figure ill skin in between having my tail blown off and bailing out while I'm scraping off the rust.
