No.23_Starling Posted April 13, 2020 Posted April 13, 2020 Anyone else using VR seeing the engine animation of the DVa in slow motion? It’s odd, like the RPM is 5 or something. I don’t have it in non-VR 1
No.23_Starling Posted April 13, 2020 Author Posted April 13, 2020 Is it a registered bug? Anyone know?
Hellequin13 Posted April 13, 2020 Posted April 13, 2020 It is tied to a setting to correct for a reprojection artifact in the prop disk animation. If your system is unable to maintain your headset's native frame rate, and you have the VR software's frame rate smoothing algorithm enabled (eg. ASW on Oculus) you will get a tearing, jittering effect in the aiming recticle. To correct for this, a line was added to your startup.cfg file: prop_blur_max_rpm_for_vr = X where X is set to a lower framerate that eliminates the artifact. I do not recall what the default setting was for this line, as I do not use reprojection techniques on my end, and disliked the lowered animations of the prop disks, spinners, and engine bits, and so my value is set to -1, which effectively turns off the feature, returning the animation rates to default.
