PC configurations - Anyone using Intel i3?

Hi Guys

 

I was wondering if anyone is using an Intel core i3 (Haswell core) and if so what performance you are seeing.

 

The reason I ask is that a young friend with limited budget wants to play the game but I don't not know exactly how the i3 4330 would handle the game. I know its a good deal faster than my old Phenom II 955 but my phenom struggles when there is a lot going on. I plan to upgrade to an i5 4670 in the near future but this is out of his reach.

 

So, if anyone is running an i3 or low end i5 please let me know your system configs and what performance you are seeing.

 

For reference I am using the high presets and get between 20 (under heavy load) and 45fps. I have the Phenom II X4 955 running @ 3.5ghz, 6 gig DDR2 800Mhz, Geforce 560ti 448 core edition graphics card.

i3 is dual core. Your Phenom is quad core. If your friend had an i5 (the quad core version of the i5), no problem but a dual core these days just doesn't cut it. BoS' current minimum is quad core. Also, the i3/i5/i7 designation has been around for four generations now so just saying the CPU is an i5 or i7 is insufficient to gauge the performance. Doesn't matter for your friend since they are on the i3 and that's pretty limited anyways, just giving some extra advice on that.

Does your friend have that processor or is he in process of buying? Where I am i5 4430 costs about 30€ more than i3 4330 and it would be sufficient for BoS.
