JG1_Wittmann Posted April 11, 2020 Posted April 11, 2020 So I believe in Sept/Oct of 2019 TC was " Upgraded " giving all of the tanks the same aiming controls/system. There have been multiple topics about this, an online poll was conducted etc and the majority did not like it. I haven't played TC in months due to this exact issue. The controls are not always responsive ( The gun or turret doesn't always move when you want it to ) and erratic, (moves farther than you want it to ) I have seen many posts saying use jtk, I have that, and I have keys programmed to emulate the mouse movement. Now in game, whether I move the mouse, or move these keys, the gun does not respond to those commands all of the time. THis single issue is the biggest " FAIL " imho regarding the development of this game. There have been numerous posts about making the turret and gun controllable by assigning them to a KEY, or JSTIK AXIS. I have never seen a reply from the developers about this either way, or even had it acknowledged that it has been or is still an issue. Is this being looked at in any way ? Will it be possible in the future to have these 2 controls mapable, or is this, and imho TC a lost cause because of it ?
[_FLAPS_]RogoRogo Posted April 12, 2020 Posted April 12, 2020 Well... it is not like some of us (a few, very very few) have tried to raise awareness and maybe a rallying call about it at the right point in time. in 2018... in 2019... https://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/42889-tank-controls-are-ridiculous/?do=findComment&comment=780070 https://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/43706-turet-controls/?do=findComment&comment=740806 https://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/44392-turning-out-of-tcs-hatch/?tab=comments#comment-755707 to finally trigger a reaction quite demonstrative about many things and warranting a gesture currently not adviseable (just read and scroll) Again - there are things that define what genre a product belongs to and what the product experience will be. And the diversity of said possible experiences, the scope of what can be provided and consumed (potentially) is defined by the environment NATIVELY created within the product. And while that does not make things like me2 (in the classic product identification marker meaning) less true or relevant - priorities and trade-offs have to be considered to not squander a USP potential. This is one of them.
