pasao Posted April 10, 2020 Posted April 10, 2020 Hi all I am having problems since a time with clouds and blurring, tried differente settings with no success. When an object like a plane is in front a cloud, a blur is surrounding the object shape Here an image is better explanatory My current graphic settings My system is an Intel i5 6500 (3,2ghz) 16Gb Ram and a Nvidia GTX 950 (Sure not the best but it used to run IL2 ok, with a solid 60FPS in all times) What can I do? Thanks in advance

Thanks in advance This is actually not a bug, but a known issue when objects are rendered in front of clouds. According to the dev team, this issue is difficult to fix as it is also related to the actual game engine. But to mitigate this somewhat, I'd suggest to set the antialiasing to 4 and to set the Landscape filter to blurred. This way it is much less pronounced, but still there. Also your screen resolution might cause this issue to be that pronounced as shown in your screenshot. Your actual resolution renders larger pixels, so you will notice this much more than on higher resolutions.
C6_lefuneste Posted April 10, 2020 Posted April 10, 2020 (edited) Can you try the last version of my mod, it may reduce the problem, I just had a look on it this afternoon : The cloud are drawn on top of all object, with a mask creating hole in them to display planes that are in front. But the mask is half the resolution of the display, and sampling is done to display cloud. The sampling is taking into account either the cloud texture, but also the hole to display plane. This is why ypu have the blurry around the plane. My mod supress the sampling. It makes a little différence in my testing, but maybe it will be better for you. Cloud improvemement is toggled by LCTRL+q I have a doubt regarding the graphic option impact, maybe you should also test with high settings if it don't work. I assumed that mask size is half resolution, it may be less for lower settings... And effectively, your resolution is very low.... Edited April 10, 2020 by c6_lefuneste 1
