Can twin-engined planes be effective as a dogfighter? DAMN YES!

Well, I accepted the challenge and I decided to focus my last flights on twin engined fighters and it is going quite good so far.

In the first clip I managed to shoot down 3 spits mkIX in less than 3 minutes.

In the second clip I was flying my P-38 when I had to face a lot of germans... Well I did my best anyway!

See you soon guys!

I like it!

Specialy how both videos start "the same way" stalking an unsuspecting enemy...

Also the way you switch targets fast. And how a 110 can "manouver" against spitfires!

Keep 'em coming

I guess they though I was a poor lonely 110....

I had to switch target fast: there were too many around!
Thank you buddy!

I gave the 110 G2 a flight after getting shot down by them a ucouple of times in dubious situations:

The plane seems to lose far less E than expected when heavily stalled (shaking)

The plane has a crazy high sustained turn rate, far faster than the specs sheet

The plane is oddly stable during high G, high yaw manoeuvrers.

I think there may be in an issue here. It can currently out-turn spitfires with both at 270km/h and it can pull lead in that turn while bleeding very little airspeed (less so than spit, Lagg3)

The high stability at high yaw means it can be used to prop hang and shoot accurately while doing so, in a way that doesn't really match reality.

This is a plane that was withdrawn for being too sluggish, slow to turn and slow in general.

I would like to see a true comparison with a spitfire in a video maybe with tacview. I also think that the Spitfire IX is still overmodelled as many videos shown that.
Anyway I do not disagree with you, just looking for something more "scientific".
About real life history of the plane, yes what you say is true. The main difference between this game and history is that probably a very few people pushed the planes to their limits

I mean, we don't have fear of dying, we push a blackout turn at 30 meters of altitude, we don't feel fatigue or g force while pulling incredible turns... So maybe IF a 110 pilot did all of that in a dogfight, they could have won way more dogfights...

Also pilots were trained in a tactic role and purpose for the plane they fly. I mean, I don't think a single A20 pilot would have ever thought of turning and dogfighting an enemy fighters and that's a commong thing we see in the game...

Best night I had on Berloga Server was 10 kills in 40 minutes flying P-38 (6) and I-16 (4)!! I could not believe the way in game P-38 could sustain turns with little energy loss.
