Every Update Fails to Update, and Requires a Fresh Install

Title is problem. I don't know what detail you'd want from me, so ask for a lot and I'll give as much as I can.

Does it say "Failed to Update" immediately upon opening the launcher, or does it try and download the update first? I had this happen to me and I just had to close the launcher and restart my computer, sometimes a couple times. It was an issue with my computer not connecting properly to the master server to get the update.

Have you tried the method of deleting the updates folder? Back a few updates ago, when they had the major issue where almost everyone got this error, did you get the newer version of the launcher at that time? 

Where do you have the game installed? Apparently having it installed in ProgramFiles(x86) can cause issues. I have it installed there myself but haven't run into any problems just yet.

Also, never a bad idea to post your computer specs, operating system version, and network setup.

I only own Flying Circus game which I purchased on 12-27-2019.

And the game has been operating without problem ever since.

 

I have tried to update my existing game today.

The update downloads Ok.

It completes the un-package sequence.

It then begins the installation process. And after about 1/3 of the red line indicator, it stops and the installation failed message appears.

 

I backed up my original game before attempting the update.

I have tried to update the game at least five times.

I have tried many different variations of deleting the update files within the game. One , then the other , then both and then the complete backup.

I reinstalled the DX files and the vcredist files and the netfx40 from within the 3rd party folder to see if there was some conflict.  Install failed.

 

I use Win 7 x64.

I ran launcher as Admin and Compatibility with Win 7 and with AUC turned off and all virus and firewall and all programs turned off. Install failed.

The Flying Circus program is installed in the C:\programs (86) folder.  And FC has been there since I first purchased it.

 

Question:

If I delete the entire game and then download it from my profile again for reinstall,  will the reinstall come with the new update already applied?

Or will I have to attempt the  4.005 update again. Which may result in my having the same results as above ?

Place your game anywhere BUT the programs folder! You should never have games in that folder even if it doesn´t always happen that W restricts updates or upgrades to programs not related to W it makes you frustrated every time it happens!

I find that when it first updates in the launcher then I immediately press 'Play' it complains I still have the old version but restarting the launcher normally fixes it.
