I've been away for a few months doing 'life' plus a loft conversion soit's been sometime since I opened up Il2 Sturmovik in a while if I did it was only to update to the latest version.

Now I have set the computer and all back up I find that when in VR I'm right up against the gunsights and no matter what keys I press  to move backwards or forwards I get no response but ontop of that I have no crosshairs in the gunsight. This was no problem before but since setting back up I find they have disapeared could this from an upgrade?

Have tried a few times now over the previous week or so and begining to run out of ideas as what to do - apart from reinstall everything - got any ideas

As far as being right up against the gunsight, you can bind VR-Default View in the settings to a button.

I believe it is under Pilot Head Control category.

Thanks dburne, I'll check it out later, no idea why my crosshairs have disapeared?

I feel a few months away from this game and I have to learn it all over again :O)

Yeah no idea on the crosshair issue unless being able to properly position brings it back.

I reset my VR went through the hole set up again and it seems to have cured the problem I’m now sitting in the right position though I’m a little low but at lest my face isn’t up against the gun sight.

It has also solved the problem I had with the cross hairs as they are back now but they are a little light is there a way of making them a little darker? Will take a look at the mod section or is there some adjustment with in the game?

thanks for the help and advise dburne ?

You can reset your viewpoint in VR by moving your head in the position you want it and then press F10. It saves your head position on a plane by plane level. Every time you press recenter VR button you return to this saved position.

Many thank Redeye, I didn’t realise you could do that, I have just gone through all aircraft with out VR to reset head positions. Thought that was the only way to get the positions. Will check it out next time fly.

thanks again

Best way to set head position is to have a HOTAS bind for it (F10 key press), then simply move your head ingame to the best position and hit the HOTAS or F10.

I have it set to my leftmost Warthog Throttle button, the red one; with the stick modifier out it's VR reset, with modifier in it's head reset.
