Just to bring to attention, long list of items in the changelog for today's 4.005 update.

135. VR zoom can be made instantaneous if the default speed gives you nausea - set the value of the vr_zoom_speed parameter to 1 (it is located in the camera section in data\startup.cfg file);

Hmm, I don't have that line in the cfg ?

[END]
[KEY = camera]
      cinematic = 1
      head_smooth = 0.50000
      hmd_restricted = 0
      shake = 1

I have the same lines in the Camera settings as Horna.

Do you just add the line  vr_zoom_speed and place 1 after it?

Have you guys launched the game in VR and then went back in and checked?
If it is not there then, then yeah I imagen would need to add the line.

I won't get a chance to try myself for a bit. Mine does not have it listed either.

Adding the line vr_zoom_speed = 1 works

Yeah, apparently the game needed a flyout before the line was added. Working as intended now o7

Now if we only got higher zoom magnification natively supported by the game...

Yeah two levels of zoom would be nice.

I like this at 0.8

Slightly offtopic, but is this update changed the level bombing sight?

I haven't try to bomb in a long while, and yesterday I found out, that it's impossible to aim with it anymore.

I'd love if we did. But if you layer the Migoto mod 'low' zoom on top of the in-game 1.5x zoom, you get a decent medium zoom. If you layer the Migoto 'medium' zoom on top of the in-game zoom you get quite a beefy zoom plus increased LOD/buildings detail.

Yup, that's my current method - I double bind in-game and Migoto zoom. The only issue is that Migoto shaders don't like Lenovo Explorer and all smoke and contrail effects don't get zoomed in with the rest of displayed stuff.

Is that why the zoom in is now much slower than before, while the zoom out is still the same?

I'm only seeing this setting, vr_zoom_speed, which was 0.1 in the config file, but not separate zooms for in and out. Weird.

In the developer post regarding the update, it is explained that you can change the speed of zoom now.  I haven't altered mine so I can't remember how, but I know it's in the first post of the latest development thread.

Edit:  Here it is!  :)

Other changes

2nd Edit:  *Reads thread after posting*

Nevermind.  :(

Actually, that didn't change anything for me (with TrackIR, using zoom in/out)

I had to change the FOV change speed of the PAN camera mode, in settings / camera. Not very intuitive, but there you are.
