Azzameen Posted April 8, 2020 Posted April 8, 2020 Hello, would it be possible, within the joystick configuration, an option to test the joystick? I mean, when I press a button on the joystick, I can see which function is assigned to it (option within the configuration menu or on the key screen itself, when nothing is selected for editing). Thank you very much!
LLv26Matu_ Posted April 30, 2020 Posted April 30, 2020 Good idea, and would make setting up hotas and buttonboxes a breeze. Maybe the simplest to implement is : press button -> Jump to the assigned box in the config table? If it doesn't jump there, it's not binded? 1
Plon Posted May 4, 2020 Posted May 4, 2020 (edited) +1 The lack of solution to easy & quickly refresh my memory is the only reason that prevent me to play IL-2 for short session... I don't have lots of time to play, I spend most of this time to reconfigure my setup as I play in VR and do not use keyboard (Using Hotas Warthog + MFD crosswind + DIY kind of trim box with plenty of button and axis) ... Waiting for this function for years now. I only play on some holidays when I can spend the time needed to remember my setup or recreate it. So most of the time it ends on another flight sim ... Sad. In most of other flight sim it takes 30 seconds to remember all hotas button attribution before entering cockpit... The lack of « per plane » setup is a pain too. It could be a good idea to invest some time in the binding interface, should be good for new players & flight sim beginners too ... Edited May 4, 2020 by Plon

Agreed... most of the grievances I see related to IL2 come down to the poor UI and quality of life for pilots in the menus. No "per plane" bindings, no combinations of buttons for a bind without 3rd party software... really really a pain in the butt.
