VR-DriftaholiC Posted April 8, 2020 Posted April 8, 2020 I've recently had gripes about the head boundaries in some planes in VR especially the JU88 and some others. If someone can show me where to find and change this I would gladly go through testing and setting each plane up optimally.
LizLemon Posted April 8, 2020 Posted April 8, 2020 I believe its botpilot_planename.txt in \luascripts\worldobjects\bots The values NeckAngleConstr and NeckSlideConstr should be the ones you want to change. 1
VR-DriftaholiC Posted April 8, 2020 Author Posted April 8, 2020 Thanks! Now I just need to figure out how to access these files, I assume they are packed away in some gtp or other structure. Guess I need to find a 101 on modding also
rieper_420 Posted April 8, 2020 Posted April 8, 2020 Hello driftaholic, this is not a 101 on modding but a very brief guide: (I am sure there are better guides in the forum already) 1) you will need the tool "unGTP-IL2" to unpack .gtp files. (google search unveiled a sas1946 forum - there is a download link posted there) 2) The files you need are in Scripts.gtp It is a command line tool: type "unGTP-IL2.exe Scripts.gtp" in the command line to extract. 3) This will extract the gtp to a new folder called "(null)" => there you can find the folder structure "\luascripts\worldobjects\bots" and find all the botpilot_*.txt files 4) modify files 5) copy the folder structure with the modified botpilot_*.txt into a new folder structure called e.g.: "Head_boundaries\data\luascripts\worldobjects\bots" and put it into your JSGME mod folder 6) enable mod with JSGME (highly recommended to use) 7) start IL-2 and test I hope the explanation is somewhat understandable ? Best regards rpr 1
VR-DriftaholiC Posted April 8, 2020 Author Posted April 8, 2020 (edited) Nailed it, thank you. Will the game read the files straight from the data dir without going to the gtp files with mods on? \luascripts\worldobjects\planes\ [cockpit limits] is right at the top of each planes txt. Think I'm on the right track. Edited April 8, 2020 by driftaholic 1
