Miles Master

My first , absolute first vintage airplane crush was a Defiant

I was younger than 6 years old and it spoke to me. Right after that a Miles Master. I never really understood why these two planes gave me a life long interest. I want to pet them

Lets face it. It looks like its grand mother Blackburn Skua had som fun with a corsair

I think the Kestrel-engined Master Is are better looking, not least because they don't have what look like a couple of drainpipes strapped to the underside.

Apparently 25 Master Is were converted to 'fighters' for the Battle of Britain, by taking out the back seat, and fitting six .303 Brownings in the wings. Perhaps fortunately, they never saw service.

I feel the same way about Skuas but this one is new to me.  Love it, thanks for posting the video.

I do not know about that one. Is it the inline engined one I probably have seen.

Yup, the Master I and IA had inline Kestrel engines. The radiator looks a bit disproportionate. I wonder if they made it bigger as a trainer bimbling slowly around doing circuits and touch-and-gos is liable to overheat?

The instructor sits nice and high, though he still can't have much of a view directly forward.
