ACG_MattACG_Matt Posted April 6, 2020 Posted April 6, 2020 Evening I've got a thrustmaster Hotas X stick, i was wondering if anyone had the same and what they had the curves for the pitch, roll etc set to thanks in advance
Hawk-2a Posted April 11, 2020 Posted April 11, 2020 General rule i suggest going by is keeping it as linear as possible, so the input stays equally responsive no matter how hard you pull/push. It is tricky at first with fine movements and small adjustments, but you‘ll be happy it responds equally throughout dogfights.
=TU=crew379 Posted April 11, 2020 Posted April 11, 2020 I have never had that stick but have used several on this sim I suggest keeping everything linear except for pitch. Set pitch to 100%, biggest curves possible this helps with aiming and avoiding the notorious "bounce" trying to aim it will be nice and smooth. Roll and yaw both linear so performance doesnt suffer. Once I got use to the sensitive pitch with the curves set all the way I started slowly backing it off. I use just a tad bit of center deadzone as well. Of course everyone and every joystick is different, but this is my suggestion.
Eclipse4349 Posted April 16, 2020 Posted April 16, 2020 Personally, I find that 20% for pitch and roll has a nice feel. I softens the movement around center a bit so it isn't so twitchy with a short, desktop stick. It is also not such an extreme curve that there is a jarring "catch up" further in the range of motion.
Tipsi Posted April 20, 2020 Posted April 20, 2020 pitch: 80% roll: 50% yaw 30% works for me, less shuddering when target shooting people
Patricks Posted April 21, 2020 Posted April 21, 2020 I just installed Stalingrad, quick set up the controls, set Pitch/Roll/Yaw as Tipsi showed above with 0 dead zones on all. Hop in a Quick mission (Lag3 vs. 109) and I need to move the stick about 1/2 of the throw to get the nose to start to move down. Works perfectly in setup, is it the Lag that just doesn't respond?
Hawk-2a Posted April 21, 2020 Posted April 21, 2020 11 minutes ago, Icer said: and I need to move the stick about 1/2 of the throw to get the nose to start to move down. Works perfectly in setup, is it the Lag that just doesn't respond? Maybe check the trim too. You might have a heavy nose up trim
Patricks Posted April 21, 2020 Posted April 21, 2020 Thx Stiglitz, but physical trim is set to center on the stick and I didn't touch anything in game, is there somewhere else this is set?
Martini Posted April 21, 2020 Posted April 21, 2020 Pitch 24% sensitivity Roll 24% sensitivity Yaw 28% sensitivity dead zone center 12% ( rudder pedals, no twist).
Patricks Posted April 23, 2020 Posted April 23, 2020 Solved! It's only when you first un-pause in an Instant action mission. If you give the stick a quick push to full travel all is perfect after that.. I'll play a bit with sensitivity now, and had to add a small deadzone to the throttle as it wasn't hitting 100% for some reason.
