PC total system freeze during first career bomber mission

Around a minute and a half into my first bomber mission in career mode, my screen suddenly turns black and the signature ping sound of a windows error before the "ggzzzzzzz" sound when the system freezes blasts through my headphones.

 

At first I thought it was just a random occurence so I didn't pay it no mind, then it happens again and again.

 

What's more is that campaign or quick battles does not have this error and I can complete entire 20-minute missions no problem, back to back.
