Hi all,

Just joined yesterday. I am a big fan of IL-2 and have played flight sims for more than 15 years.

I thing the strongest attraction of all flight simulation games is the treatment of space on the computer screen.

The most advanced technology there are the stereoscopic 3D displays (with active shutter or passive glasses).

How is the IL 2 team ;planning to use stereoscopic 3D? Maybe I have missed it, but I couldn't find any mention of it here in the forums.

I am sure IL 2 in 3D would be phenomenal! The difference in 2D and 3D films is huge...

Thanks all,

Darko

6) Will the game support stereoscopic 3D, for 3D monitors?

Yes, we already have the technology works, where users put a high rating from nVidia. But of course it also depends on the specifics of the device, we have not performed extensive tests.

have you noticed if you close one eye in real life you see the same but if you close one eye in an stereoscopic game you see totally different?

Holding up a finger and looking at it with first one and then the other eye you should clearly see the difference (unless you're a cyclop). If yo fail to notice any difference when shutting just one eye it is because you have a very "dominant eye" (the right eye in most people) and you have closed the other one (i.e. commonly the left one).

id call current 3d augmented reality, the real objective of 3d is to be done so well you dont notice the effect as you dont notice in real life as you can tell by closing one eye

hold your finger about 10 inches in front of your eyes, close one eye and check if you see the same.....I think not.

I play Rise of Flight with NVIDEA 3DVision and it's absolutely stunning, works perfectly. I'm sure it will be the same for BoS.

Really looking forward to donning my 3d glasses and using my new Asus VG278HR-should work well together-they go hand in hand with a decent video card (NVidia).I'm confident my GTX 680 will cope admirably and the NVidia built in software will link up fine on release.

I've flew CLOD ,DCS Mustang and a few times on ROF and can't remember any real problems.

Per my discussion with Loft.  3D will work jsut as well as it does in RoF which I have heard is AWESOME, though I have never tried it.  He also was very excite for checking out his Oculus Headset when he got home.  Ill paraphrase but he put it like "its the natural next step for flight simming".  HE also mentioned that they wont do half assed support, "everything we do, we do to the best result possible"  That is a quote!

ROF works perfectly in 3d. I have a passive monitor so I get 50-60 fps with a just a pair of GTX560ti SLI.

Really quite excited to see WW2 tracers arcing onto enemy targets in 3d.  Ranging a moving target in 3d is one of the only situations when 3d gaming is more than eye candy or a gimic.

I don't bother playing games in 3d unless you are judging range and ballistic trajectory. 3d is a massive advantage for long range shooting.
