RNAS10_Oliver Posted April 3, 2020 Posted April 3, 2020 Yeh this was in the developer diary two hours ago. ? I've mixed feelings about the video to be honest.
J5_HellCat_ Posted April 3, 2020 Author Posted April 3, 2020 Posted the video for people who may not follow the diary ...... What are the mixed feelings you speak of?
No.23_Triggers Posted April 3, 2020 Posted April 3, 2020 (edited) Camera angles are really cool. Actual footage is a bit weird. Too many planes in furballs, too many balloons at the front, Bristols and Dolphins level-bombing like B17s, and I can see the D7s! Edited April 3, 2020 by US93_Larner 3

JG1_Butzzell Posted April 3, 2020 Posted April 3, 2020 No one recognized the scene from "The Red Baron" movie?
JGr2/J5_Klugermann Posted April 3, 2020 Posted April 3, 2020 I did but photoshopped. I tried that with flare a while back unsuccessfully.

It's a well done video, some interesting camera angles (amazing what some can achieve with the same tools) and etc. But something strange about various footage. Too many observation balloons. Various sounds seem changed from in game or at least tweaked to me. The scene destroying the observation balloon with the flare pistol. Along with what Larner noted. So for a promotion for FC does not quite seem to represent FC (nor the Great War) in my eyes. Edited April 3, 2020 by Oliver88 1

Dutch2 Posted April 3, 2020 Posted April 3, 2020 if flying in VR, all the craters and tenches are 2D black ink spots, rather dissatisfied view for an 2020 game. Now it looks if they are real 3d, is this so on a monitor, are the craters and trenches are quite different in view if using a monitor? What also is a bit strange, if having that much activity everywhere from airplanes, ground fire , balloons etc you should have an supercomputer to get everything so smooth. But a very nice made video.
J5_Gamecock Posted April 3, 2020 Posted April 3, 2020 I'll still take comfort in the fact that it reads "Volume 1" in the title. 2 1

emely Posted April 4, 2020 Posted April 4, 2020 The best video on this subject that I have seen. Is it not clear to everyone that the author, as an artist, focused on feelings, and not on the real mechanism of the game? And he did just great! Someone says that a balloon cannot be shot down from a rocket launcher? Yes you go in the ass, this is one of the best frames in the video! Of course, the author had to show the harsh reality in the background, Dr1 flew there. Sadly, in life, not everything is beautiful and smells of roses. Sometimes in life you have to watch and smell shit and watch cheating dr1 in the game. That is life ?
J5_Gamecock Posted April 4, 2020 Posted April 4, 2020 Was it a portrayal of actual game play?... no. Then again, It was a promo video. It wasn't meant for us... we already own FC. I've even seen promo videos like this for turn based wargames, they're meant to generate interest/sales. IMO it was a job well done and entertaining to watch. 2 1
SeaW0lf Posted April 4, 2020 Posted April 4, 2020 The video is cool and it could bring some people to the game. My only gripe is the lack of badass skins, especially since we are talking about Flying Circus, called that way in part due to the colors of the aircrafts. Other than that, cool video. 1

But also an extra amount of bad reviews at STEAM, from disappointment (Arcade) gamers who think this modified video is an representation of the real FC1 game. Besides that massive amount of planes, groundobjects, flakclouds even a super computer could not run that, I’m afraid after the first QM, flying in an Dr1 over the empty no-mans lands they start writing a review in an very angry mode. But indeed this guy does make very good video’s but showing this kind of video by the official source, hmmm, without any notification bit tricky.
SeaW0lf Posted April 5, 2020 Posted April 5, 2020 Well, looking for that perspective... Yes, they could do a more down to earth video and be cool nonetheless. I just don't get the lack of colorful skins.

Hohenadler Posted April 8, 2020 Posted April 8, 2020 (edited) Gives me shimmer of hope , if ever so slight, seeing Tank Crew being imported into WWI(vol 2?). Just waiting to get a rig that can run all of the Il-2 Sturmovik games. I am running ROF and BOS on a 5 year old origin laptop that has seen better days. The video is nice and hopefully will generate more interest in WWI. Maybe 1917 and the upcoming film, The King's Man, will generate more interest in this Great War. Edited April 8, 2020 by Hohenadler
