Ju52 keys and joystick behaving weird ....

Ju52; two different missions. Same controller settings, working fine with other planes like a Yak with a bomb, or an A20 bomber fully loaded.

In one the Ju52 won't get off the ground, taxi-ing is slow, and in cockpit view the power lever knobs move wildly up and down,

while theengine  power joystick axe is set continuously to max power (works OK for other planes)...  In a minute or 2 there are engine overheat warnings, but the radiators are set to auto.

In the other mission: Ju 52 gets off the ground OK, but the side door wont open with the same keyboard settings working for f.i. an A20's bomb doors.

Now i begin to think that this Ju52 is a little buggy ??

Wild guess: Not all 3 engines are slaved to the same throttle movement and at least one works as a brake when below a certain threshold (as was intended in real life).

No, the JU52 is not buggy, but throttle control for the 3 engines is a bit tricky. First you must know the following for this crate:

- with the JU52 we do not have classic engine numbering like we know for all multi-engine planes in IL2-GB. Usually we have
engine no. 1 which is the left engine and engine no. 2 which is the right engine. Now, with the JU52, the right engine is not
the engine no. 2 but engine n. 3 - the engine no. 2 is the in front of the cockpit.
So, assuming (and really hoping!) you have throttle device with two levers (or a split-lever), you have to assign one lever for
the engine no. 1 and no. 3. Moving this throttle lever will control both wing mounted engines, whereas the second throttle
lever should be assigned to the engine no. 2.

- when using your left or right break pedal, the corresponding engine will be throttled back - f.ex. left break = throttle back
engine no. 1. and vice versa.

- mixture should be left in neutral position because for the JU52 it is actually used as "Höhengas" and should only be used
  at high altitudes.

Hope this will help.

Therion, thnx. i have a warthog. So this means i need a special configuration to load each time i want to get this ground-loop spinner off the (dance) floor?

Funny thing is that i did not notice this in other missions with a Ju52.

Only in the 'Operation Buffel" Ju52 campaign from Saldy's 01. mission.

Even loaded that 01 in the FME and re saved it as single mission; the original is a night mission, changed it ti midday, so i could have a better look in the cockpit: levers act wildly.

as if there's some monkey pulling strings, with the throttle held steady at MAX power.

Just saw this posted there too:

Why? Isn't the Warthog throttle a dual lever one? I have the Saitek X55 Rhino combo with dual lever throttle too. So it's quite easy to solve:

1. Left throttle lever for general throttle input axis.

2. Further down in the key mapping: - left lever for engine no. 1 and right lever for engine no. 2

3. Again further down the list in the key mapping - left lever for engine no. 3

That's it. No need to load a special configuration for that.

Just set about that, but the mixture (blue levers do not react yet .... but the yellow power levers wok now.

But still i don't have power enough for lift-off. Cowl flaps seem to be important .....

ADDED: got up in the air, probably the 2300 KG load and a full tank were the problem getting up LoL

PS do you know where these Joystick-Throttle settings are saved, so that i can make a backup ?.

Yep, in your game's DATA folder, just copy the folder called INPUT - that's it.
