Fw 190 A-8 no option to remove outer cannons?

All Doras starting from December 1944 had boost. If they had the fluid available is another question, but I haven't hear of many supply-issues with MW50 in Dora-units.

It was an interview I read from here. Please allow me to find the anecdote and Ill provide it.  Im definitely sure I read it. This was recently.

That particular aircraft belongs to a training unit though and Graf was not involved in combat at the time.

No need to be snappy ? my point was that it may not be indicative of his preference in combat. And that training units may have just had them not fitted because they definitely wouldn't need them.

I read it on an interview a few months ago linked from this forum.

If anyone remembers please help me out. Im absolutely certain what I read as to what he said. I cannot find it now however Im not the greatest at google fu.

I tend to dissagree. The whole purpose of Jagdgruppe Ost (JGr Ost) was to provide specialized training for new fighter pilots to familiarize the pilots with combat like situations and teach combat proven tactics by experienced veterans. They were delivered planes exactly as they came off the production line and went to the front line units. Graf was the big Boy there from 1 February 1943 – April 1943 (First man to shot down 200 planes, Brilliants of the Knights cross etc.) and ordered his planes to fit his personal preferences and individual style (just look at the fancy paintjob both on his A4 and A5), as did many other commanders. There are several other examples of similar behaviour of veterans unrelated to Fw190s. Only think about Gallands individual 109 F models with JG 26.
