P-47D-28 Dorsal Fin Modification

I have already mentioned this on the "Thread to gather your suggestions" thread, but I thought I would make a separate post as well. I feel very strongly about this small and very particular addition to the modifications roster provided for the P-47D-28.

For those unacquainted, which I realize may be very few of you, I will explain this particular modification and its relevance. For that, we have to go back to 25 block Thunderbolts, which many of you will recognize as the block that first introduced the bubble canopy.

After the bubble canopy was introduced, it was quickly realized that the loss of aft keel area from the removal of the "razorback" canopy created a loss of directional stability. Engineers quickly remedied this by adding a dorsal fin (I included an image I edited of a 30 block Thunderbolt, with the dorsal fin highlighted, for your convenience). However, it wasn't until the 30 block Thunderbolts that the dorsal fin was installed out of factory. This was slightly problematic, as the 25, 26, 27, and 28 block Thunderbolts were already in the field, and lacked this improvement. So this dorsal fin became a fairly common field modification to any post 25 block and pre 30 block Thunderbolts.

Of all the modifications we have for the P-47D-28, I feel as though this one should be present. Especially with how common it was. Honestly, I was shocked and a little disappointed when I discovered that it wasn't present in-game, yet removing 1 pair or 2 pairs of 50. cals was present in-game.

catchthefoxes has mad two posts on the subject. I agree with him 100%. I don't blame him for not shutting up about the dorsal fin:
