Jasta 18 "Raben" Fokker DVIIs Summer 1918

Here's a full compliment of Vanilla DVIIs and one DVIIF. Mostly Alb with a few OAW and Fokker built ones. 

 

Each aircraft has it's own alpha channel because the oval and round holes in almost every airplane that I could find sources for, as well as the little doors and louvers on the cowlings, varied a lot from plane to plane. I also did some neato stuff with spokes on a couple.

 

Info on this squad is very little. I used the Osprey book by Greg VanWyngarden "Jasta 18-The Red Noses" and came across an awesome photo library that had some pictures I had never seen before. I also used Wing Nuts. The Aerodrome forum was pretty helpful too.

 

I made some guess work on some things like the colours on the tailplanes. Hard to tell when all photos are B&W but it's a good of a guess as any and I think the end result wasn't too bad. I added some brass stuff up in front like some of the tubes at the front of the engine. If you know about Jasta 18 you'll see I didn't include Kandt. I won't get into it because it's too hard to explain. Let's say there's debate surrounding Kühne's and Kandt's aircraft. In the end I decided to call the slotted band aircraft, Kühne's.

 

Once again, I say, I hope you enjoy these skins as much as I did wasting all that time making them. LOL

I found a couple small errors in your thumbnails. I'll outline them and send them to you for your perusal.

Hi GCF,

 

First thing I saw and maybe of no concern. You have in your "Notes and USB Number" column that all these skins are the DVII "F". Only 1 is actually a DVIIF (D7F_J17_Unmarked) All the rest are just the regular DVII.

 

The thumbnails: 

I've circled and marked 4 or them and numbered them 1-4.

 

#1 Has the wrong picture associated with the file name. it should look like this for Kuhne

example: FD7F_J18_RABEN_Unmarked    or    PD3a_J18_RABEN_Muller etc.....
