Formation Flying

Being part of the RAF as aircrew myself and holding a strong aviation and historical enthusiast, I would like to place the concept forward of formation flying to a more advanced level. Most games now days just hold the simple echelon (Left or Right) formations. I would see it as a good idea if you could change formations, as not only does it look impressive but it also alters the style of a flight's defence and attacking strength. I think that when the formation breaks up, this could receive a bit more attention to detail. Echelons would looking good to see aircraft 'peeling-off' where as when holding a more defensive formation, the use of 'splitting' the formation would also be more beneficial from an airman's perspective. Breaking off into different angles yet still not leaving your wingmen too far apart as they shall still require to provide cover of course.
