Microstutter/hangs during control input

I haven't flown Il-2 in a couple months, but upon returning I can't due to microstutter and system hangs, but only when touching a control axis.  During normal level flight I get a solid 60 FPS, and can actually fly the plane with trim without the stutter/hang.  I'm flying in VR if that makes any difference.  I don't have any issues flying in DCS, and I haven't had issues with IL-2 in the past with this setup, so I'm not sure what happened.

Nvidia 1080 GTX 8GB VRAM

What are your controllers? Any force feedback enabled? I would try disabling that first as it has been an issue in the past.

I'm using a VIRPIL T-50 base with warthog grip, Warthog throttle, and MFG Crosswind rudder pedals. I haven't changed any of my controllers since the last time I played IL-2, but I'll look and see if Force Feedback is enabled somewhere.
