Hi all the comunity

I am sure it has been discussed many times, but also I have suffered it many times, as many as I play FC

It is a pain to fly near every time with the stick near all full foward in more or less degree depending each plane

Coming from ROF where we have response curves for each plane, I am not going to request the same, but almost something you can fix the neutral point of elevator in land (like -44% in Dr1 by example). The instant you relax the pressure, stall appears as the plane suddenly jumps up.

To have the oportunity to fix in settings the initial pitch or displace the movement of joystick, only for ww1 planes

Please, give it a thought about it, a simple solution, something.

Thanks in advance

This has been discussed thoroughly in the past.  Despite the code already existing, I don't think there's much hope of getting response curves, but they're never essential anyway.

A far simpler and easier solution to which there could be no valid objection, would be to add 'fictional' elevator trim via the existing controls provided for the WW2 types.

Another problem is, that when you have sensitivity set to let's say 60%, then the input required to keep WW1 planes flying in straight line generates inprecise output making aiming in planes like Dr.1 lot harder than it should.

This is exactly how the Camel, for one, did fly.  Arthur Gould Lee in "No Parachute" describes the Camel thus "in level flying you have to press against the joystick the whole time.  Result, if you don't press, she just goes up and over [loops]".

So there's an issue, which I haven't seen brought up yet.

Here's the joystick deflection required to keep Dr1 flying straight. With sensitivity greater than 0, it means that aiming while flying in more or less straight line (like when intercepting a two-seater) is quite imprecise. This makes aiming a lot more difficult than it should be.

I think the only decent solution is to give everyone the ability to change, where the flattening of the curve takes place.

Yes it seems this tendency to pitch up got worse with the last update. Makes Dr 1 is almost uncontrollable now.

As Cynic suggested, an adjustable elevator trim in the hangar would suffice well.

That way it's replicating an on-the-ground trim, which you can't change in-flight.

This keeps things within the bounds of realism.

Anyway, this was a dominant topic back at the very start of early access, so don't think it'll be looked at.

We had this in ROF, but it does not exist in the Sturmovik engine so code does not quite "already exist" as you say. Some people keep trying to insist that this is the exact same engine as ROF. It is not.

Speaking only for myself, I was not suggesting that the two 'engines' are the same, only that at least the non graphic elements of the related code could be adapted for use. Be that as it may, I don't think anyone is expecting to get customisable response curves and they aren't needed anyway.

What IL2 does have already and of necessity is elevator trimming, and I see no possible difficulty in silencing the complaints by adding it to the WW1 types, not least because there would be no visible cockpit controls to render..  Of course purists will say quite rightly that pitch trim was not standard in WW1, but neither were the response curves deemed appropriate for RoF.

Forgive me, I’m a total noob at WW1 aviation and Flying Circus. So what everyone is saying is there’s no fix for this? The Dr.1 & D.IIIa are the worst. The D.VII and D.VIIF I have no issues with.
