WokeUpDead Posted March 20, 2020 Posted March 20, 2020 I have two questions about bombardiers who also perform gunner duties in the Pe-2, He-111, and Ju-88: If the player is in bomb-sight mode, can the bombardier/gunner still fire his gun? Logically the answer should be no, but I'm not sure what it's like in this game. Also, if the gunner is killed, can the player still go into bomb-sight mode? Again, logically the answer should be no, with the possible exception of the Ju-88 where there is a third crew member very near who could replace the bombardier.
1CGS LukeFF Posted March 20, 2020 1CGS Posted March 20, 2020 Yes and yes. The bombsight is tied to the pilot position, not any of the gunner positions.

Yogiflight Posted March 20, 2020 Posted March 20, 2020 Another such thing is the gunner in the Bf 110 E2, who can shoot with his gun while he is reloading the drum magazines of the MG/FFs, which should not be possible as well.
Lusekofte Posted March 21, 2020 Posted March 21, 2020 (edited) This is one of the things I believe devs took a decision in order to make a two person job into one person job. I do not disagree on it, personally. I was used to change to bombardier in order to get to the bombaim in clod. but it give a higher multitask level. Meaning more patience in learning curve. I am a bit sad about the simplified interphase bomb aim mechanism is in this game. But respect the low budget solution. For me getting to the target and find small targets and bomb it, no matter how much I damage it I find it rewarding. I am in a ww 2 mode when trying to hit ships and bridges. Even tanks from high altitude. I gladly see a more realistic autopilot interphase and procedure before the correct station get to look in the bomb aim Edited March 21, 2020 by 216th_LuseKofte

Wouldn’t it be relatively simple to have the bombsight unavailable if your bombardier was killed? And to not have your bombardier’s guns firing while the bombsight is in use?

However, for the bombers in the game except for the A-20 and the ones planned for Normandy (except for the Arado 234) and B-25, B-26 when they become flyable in the future, a gunner like the Nose and Top gunner was the bombardier.
