Hi all...

I'd like to create a "wingman" to my tank but I cant do that.

I create the second tank and then I target it to my tank. I create a COMMAND FORMATION to set the formation that I want but nothing: it dosent start the engine and, obviously, it dosent follow me.

Can you help me?

1) Have you created waypoints.

2) Have your waypoints been object linked to the tank leader,

3) Have the waypoints been target linked in sequence.

4) Have the speeds parameter been set in the waypoints

and last have you triggered your 1st waypoint with an MCU like a Translator Mission Begin followed by a Trigger Timer target linked to the 1st waypoint, or any other way.

If you want to be sure that your Command Formation choice is being followed, it has to be triggered after the tanks are moving. This means that you have to insert a Trigger Timer of say 3 seconds after the 1st Waypoint has been triggered.

Do not forget to use the formation for vehicles and not planes, if you are on a road or off road it is different. You can have also your own formation.

Thanks for your reply IckyATLAS...

No, I did not create a waypoint becouse I'm the leader. I'd like to create a "tank wingman" for me. When I create a normal wingman (a plane I mean), it's not necessary to create a waypoint: he follows me everywhere (if I target linked him to me).

Yesterday I tried to switch the situation and I create an AI tank leader with waypoint and everything went all right.

So I think that (at the moment): I cant create a tank platoon with my tank as leader.

Or am I wrong?

I hope someone else can answer as tanks is another world for me. I just use them with AI only.

I hope so...

Resolution was easier than I thought. It was enough to order my wingman to change formation and magically he started the engine and started following me.
