vossiewulf Posted March 16, 2020 Posted March 16, 2020 Not new to flight sims but am to the Il-2 series. I've been playing fine with an HP Vive in VR, but just now I recorded a whole series of flights so I could go back and look at where I'm hitting and missing guns wise, every game takes some fiddling to get used to their gunnery model. And I want to watch them in normal non-VR mode, as VR mode is a pain for anything but actively flying. However, now when I start the game in standard mode I get no UI, I'm just in a hangar with an La-5FN and I'm circling it endlessly. Only escape does anything and it brings up a dialog asking if I want to exit. I've restarted the machine and the problem persists. Can someone help? Thanks in advance.
vossiewulf Posted March 17, 2020 Author Posted March 17, 2020 I figured this out, it wasn't missing, it was off-screen. I am switching back and forth between monitors, the one with the flight sim rig is 3440x1440, this second one for more general work and gaming is 4k. All the apps I've been using have toggled seamlessly with the res change, apparently Il-2 did not, it was stuck on a 21:9 aspect ratio, and the UI was shoved off to the side. 1
vossiewulf Posted March 18, 2020 Author Posted March 18, 2020 Also BTW if you see someone say this again, this can only happen if it's set to windowed mode, for some reason mine was even though it appeared to be full screen. You can switch between monitors of different resolutions no prob if it's set to just take whatever the current screen res is.
