CaptainCernick Posted March 16, 2020 Posted March 16, 2020 Hey everyone, The keybinds for the radiators don't seem to have an effect. They are still bound to the default key combinations (RWIN / RCTR -/+), but pressing them has no effect on the Il-2 model 1943 (my test platform until now). I also tried binding them to the toggle switches on the X52 joystick, still no effect. I'm quite sure this is due to user error, I just can't find out what I've been doing wrong for the past two days. All engine aids are disabled in the difficulty screen. Interestingly, using the water radiator control for the spit mkv (a separate control bind in the menu) is working fine. Looking forward to hearing from you!

Be aware that there were some changes in the key binding settings, especially for flaps and gear, but also stab/elevator trimmers. Originally most of them were toggle functions. Now, you have to buttons to assign. Not 100% sure about radiator controls, but it might be the same. Here a screen shot to give you an idea: For radiator controls just look into "Plane engine controls" category. Cheerio
CaptainCernick Posted March 16, 2020 Author Posted March 16, 2020 Hi Therion, Thanks for getting back on this! The trim axes are working fine. They are assigned in a similar manner as you are showing in the screenshot. The radiator controls are also assigned to a similar system, with one button assigned to increasing and another to decreasing radiator opening (as you can see in the screenshot), they are just not having any effect in the sim.

It looks like you also have to assign the oil radiators shutters control axis. There is likely a radiator AXIS setting and a radiator BUTTON setting, and you may have one set and not hte other.
CaptainCernick Posted March 16, 2020 Author Posted March 16, 2020 Well, I tried rebinding both water and oil radiator controls to different buttons on the joystick and that seemed to have worked! I don't see how, but as long as it works, I'm happy! Thanks for the help everyone. See you in the skies. 1
