It's nice to see how our community grows day by day. It can only take a few days until the "limit" is exceeded. I'm curious when it will be. Let's welcome the 200,000nd together.

Even if you figure 50% of them have moved on in the past years that's 100,000 potential guaranteed sales of a PTO module - Jason and the dev team will be raking in the cash, smoking foot-long cigars while they bask in the sun by the pool in their mansions on the French Riviera!

There is no reason to be negative, I have been registered in the forum myself since December 11, 2013, but only really active since April 2019. I was still very tied to IL2 1946. I think IL2 GB has developed positively enough, so much so that I rarely play IL2 1946 anymore.

This just shows how small the combat flight sim community really is.

With these paltry numbers we are indeed lucky that anyone takes a chance on us.

Thank you Jason and team for sticking with this.

This kind of thing could only exist as a passion project these days, which is both good and bad

Wow, BoS must have looked well futuristic, Sc-fi even, in 1913.

Growing the community is a great thing. I'm sure not all of those accounts are active anymore but generally speaking I see most of the folks from the early days and plenty more since then. The multiplayer servers are consistently filled and things seem to be going fairly well for IL-2 right now. Here's to many more!

holy crap! I sincerely never noticed that, and Idk why but I thought the community its maybe 10000-20000 members, and that's a lot for me. But 200000? Hell, I didn't expect that.

I wonder if this means that the sales have surpassed ONE MILLION dollars, or several.?

All of them were on TAW today

Joined this forum December 11. 2012

young and naive I was. Thinking I knew it all.
My hopes was sky high and the models was awesome. I simply was in heaven.
All though disagreeing with some things over the years, I got to say I am happy the developers did not noticed most of my ideas how to run their busyness.

Guys,

Just to set the record straight we have more than 200K users. We have a lot on Steam as well. But 200K registered here is a good thing no doubt. Now, if only everyone will buy everything at the same time, all my troubles are solved. :salute:

I guess the challenge is to convince those >200000 to buy BoN... Man, imagine those tasty numbers...

I wonder how many of those aren`t 2 posts accounts made for giveaway threads. People do things like this here.

I heard from a friend of a friend that all 200,000 and all their friends will post in this thread and guarantee facebook likes post the release of Flying Circus Vol 2 and the release of the Mosquito.

200k for what Game? We have Tank Crew, Flying Circus, Great Battles, CloD and IL-2 1946 makes 40k for each game without subtraction all the doubled or placeholder accounts.

On the website steam chats IL-2 is also growing continiously.

Have you seen the graph above that illustrates that we decreasing. I checked myself and yes we decreasing - I used the "6m" graph, but still more than enough for MP

To keep the record straight, it would be trivial for this site's maintainers to make it display this sentence instead: Total Members = n, of whom n% were active in the last n months.

It’s a privately held company.  The “record” is NOYFB.

Pretty much this.

I referred only to a single statistic that the company chose to reveal.  Unqualified statistics are at best misleading;  anyone choosing to display statistical data, should consider making its derivation as clear and unambiguous as possible.

How do you know that they didn't consider it?

I never claimed to know that, but if you're suggesting they may have, you risk creating the impression that they dismissed the idea.

Well, that info is NOYFB, so it's not much of a risk on my part.

So if the MP community really is 10% of the player base, there must be 20,000 of them out there.

In February Combat Box had just shy of 3700 unique players on it, according to the website, which is highest number I can find from the servers that record stats

No way to accurately determine true multiplayer numbers without access to the stats that only the devs can see.

Will grant that they are quite low compared to single player.

Well as of a few minutes ago only 74 more new members needed to get to 200,000.  At the rate new members are signing up I think by the end of the this weekend we have the 200,000.

Perhaps wait until he becomes a regular in MP.
