Blitzen Posted March 13, 2020 Posted March 13, 2020 I sometimes think this is the weakest feature of the HDS. .No matter how much I press or clean the weak velcro surfaceson the foam face pad 7 the headset itself simply doesn't hold on- it slips and when it does the "perfect spot"in the lens/eye alignment slips too, usually taking the left eye out of focused clarity. I am tempted to simply glue it in place, but sure if the kind of glue used may damage one thing or another , or simply not work with the velcro surfaces. Has anyone else had this problem & if so how did you solve it?

Ummmmm, my wife already thinks I’m a bit crazy-this would only confirm it! 2 hours ago, Brzi_Joe said: look here: EDIT: Click on date (January...), it is direct link to post I already have a very good headstrap converted from a Vive headstrap- it works great, but the foam “face pad” shifts .The Velcro strips that attach it to the headset just don’t do a very good job.I’m wondering if I just glue both of them together or us stronger third party Velcro strips over the existing ones. I worry this second option might screw up the “sweet spot” which when everything aligns now is perfect...
TCW_Brzi_Joe Posted March 13, 2020 Posted March 13, 2020 (edited) Aha, face pad. I have replacement vive face pad 11mm thick. That works great for me, and even better when I added small pillow on my forehead, and back, I wanted to make similar as Pimax MAS. Take a look here Edited March 13, 2020 by Brzi_Joe

Take a look here It looks nearly like mine except I have a strip of gray packing foam on the backside of the Vive headset. The big difference is that I have "sandwiched " the original Pimax foam face pad woth the Vive leatherette face pad on the outside . it remove my face & eyes a bit further from the lenses and is the perfect distance for sweet spots for left & right eyes. However the stock Pimax facepad will just not stay put. How did you make sure your Vive face pad would stay where you placed it against the Pimax headset? Glue? New velcro on both facing surfaces?
TCW_Brzi_Joe Posted March 13, 2020 Posted March 13, 2020 It is face pad made to connect on velcro, and it is good connected there. I was before using thick face pad, like you. But now that 11mm + forehead memory foam pillow is the best.

Blitzen Posted March 30, 2020 Author Posted March 30, 2020 Solution for me was to buy a number of small thin velcro pads from Amazon that offer better stick where ever they are used,With the comfort mask they offer a firm stick to head set...
