What you did in buying BoBP is unlock the content. Just open the game as usual and hop into a P51.
cardboard_killer Posted March 12, 2020 Posted March 12, 2020 You won't find the game separate from BoS. Open BoS and the content will be there. Should be the same as your BoK install from this web site.
IFS_GisliEinar Posted March 12, 2020 Author Posted March 12, 2020 Not through steam then just trough Great Battle on desktop?
RedeyeStorm Posted March 12, 2020 Posted March 12, 2020 You can open the game both ways. Content is al ready present in BoS. On start menu, top righthand corner, you will see BoBP mentioned.

You might have noticed after your purchase that there was no download and no install. That's because the full game is always downloaded and installed. Everything was on your system the moment you purchased and installed Stalingrad. Purchasing BoBP activates licenses that allow you to use BoBP content. 1
IFS_GisliEinar Posted March 12, 2020 Author Posted March 12, 2020 So there are no activations that i need to do? It strange cause i cant see my game in start menu in top right corner only others that ive bouth through the years 16 minutes ago, [Pb]RedeyeStorm said: You can open the game both ways. RedeyeStorm Posted March 12, 2020 Posted March 12, 2020 Nope all there. No separate install. Just start BoS through Steam or desktop icon. All the Great Battle titles mesh together in one install.
CorvusX Posted March 12, 2020 Posted March 12, 2020 (edited) Hi you need to own Battle of Stalingrad on steam to use it, if you do own BoS just start it from steam then you can see BoBp inside the game (also BoK if your steam and Il2 accouts are linked together). BoBP or the other BoX titles wont get an extra entry in the steam library, it's handled like a DLC. If you start BOS in steam and BoBP is still missing, please contact the support. IFS_GisliEinar Posted March 12, 2020 Author Posted March 12, 2020 Still cant use the BOBP after I bought it today...I see this content is downloaded on my DLC list in steam with ofcourse BOS like it requers and I cant go into game through steam but when I go into game trought "Great Battle" icon on desktop I cant see it in my topright list of DLC in the start menu and if i go itno "Career" show like i need to buy the BOBP again....Someone have I magic trick for me to fix this issue so i can enjoy the game?

Does the Desktop shortcut start the steam editon or do you have the launcher editon for BOK also installed? Please check the shurtcut where it leads to. I ask this because on my desktop steams shortcut is called: "IL-2 Sturmovik Battle of Stalingrad" and the Il2- launchers shortcut is called:"IL-2 Sturmovik Great Battles" The Launcher version will not include newer stuff you bought on Steam. Please check the steam installation (verify data) and make sure that you start it from Steam. Edited March 12, 2020 by CorvusX
IFS_GisliEinar Posted March 12, 2020 Author Posted March 12, 2020 After a research of everything of this game I found out that my new purchase BOBP through steam is on the list at Steam but i cannot enter the game trough steam so I do it trough Great Battle icon on desktop and seems to be that on the icon the BOBP is not seen there or that is what i think...How can i fix that so Great Battles icon can see BOBP?
RedKestrel Posted March 12, 2020 Posted March 12, 2020 If you have a mix of content from Steam and the Store, the only way to make sure BOTH are available to you is to link the accounts, and then launch through Steam. Of course, if you can't launch through Steam at all with any of your content, then there might be another problem. Do you see an error code or anything like that?
CorvusX Posted March 12, 2020 Posted March 12, 2020 please see the last two posts of your original topic (no need to open a new topic every time)

If you have that content through Steam, you have to launch via steam after linking your accounts. Its the only way ot make sure all of your stuff from different sources is there. If you try and launch through the launcher you will only see BoK. You say you cannot enter through Steam, what do you mean? What happens? Does it not log in, does it give you an error code? You have to explain what the problem is with logging in through Steam.
IFS_GisliEinar Posted March 13, 2020 Author Posted March 13, 2020 When I try to log through Steam and the game loads up all the way where the ask you link up your accounts when i do that.... after few second im trown back do desktop with no errorcode or nothing....Im compleatly lost and when i try to connect trough the Icon on desktop (Great battle icon) BOBP isnt there

I don't know what help we can offer here. Sounds like there might be something wrong with your install or with Steam. Il-2 support can take a little time to get to your tickets so best to lodge a ticket with them now to start the clock ticking. If you solve it in the meantime all the better. That being said, You can try verifying the game files in Steam to see if there was an improper install. Also, if you are running any third party software like stuff for headtracking or joystick mapping, turn that off, as well as any other unnecessary program running in the background. Then try launching through Steam again to see what happens.. When I have had crashes in the past on loading, I traced it to some third party software loading and freezing at the wrong time. Also, as a long shot post your computer specs if you can (processor, amount of RAM, graphics card, game controllers, any headtracking hardware), maybe someone with a similar configuration as you has had the same problem and fixed it.
FlyingH Posted March 13, 2020 Posted March 13, 2020 And, is your game located in the dreaded "Program files" folder windows can be blocking installation of new content "to protect vital programs from beeing affected by intrudin cantent" as M$ describes that. In that case relocate your game to some other space on your disk(s). Or have you got a firewall preventing installation?
