Prop animation bug ?

On the J5 server, last night I was attacked by an A.I Fokker VII, who was protecting a Halberstadt.  Being A.I, he wasn’t too much of a challenge.  However, wanting to get after the Halberstadt, or other VII, I didn’t drive him into the ground, but left him with a dead engine, PROP STATIONARY,  and being just East of Warloy, he had little chance of getting back to his lines, let alone a home airfield.  I wasn’t awarded a kill though ?

I had noticed, as I flew away from him,  after the Halberstadt, that he did seem awfully persistent in trying to follow  me, despite the dead engine, but I just put that down to the vagaries of the A.I

Are you absolutely sure it wasn't SeaWolf?

Are you saying that they are able verifiably to maintain level speed with an engine depicted as dead?

I’m sorry, I couldn’t say.

I overtook the D VII and climbed away, chasing the Halberstadt,  leaving the D VII trailing radiator and fuel.  I imagined that he would then probably circle down to a crash, but was surprised to see, when I looked back maybe 10 - 20 seconds later, that he was still following me, although not climbing or closing.  If I were to take a guess, I would say that his engine was damaged, and not providing full power, so he could still fly, but not well enough  to climb or catch me, even though his prop was stopped when I overtook him.

I had something similar the other day with a player who was dead-sticking in the mud. even went back and watched track replay and saw the pilot in question ditching in the middle of no mans land - but no award. "Landed on airfield" - CLEARLY not the case. Assuming it's just a parser glitch...

It can happen because someone did more % of damage , btw did you get the assist ? Only one person can get assist points (second person after who got the kill which did more % damage then others)
