Weird scaled up transparency icon clipping..?

A picture speaks a thousand words. My icons are clipped by what seems to be upscaled transparent/invisible models of stuff.

(Photoshopped and added the same 109 on the bottom right without needing to rescale/etc - only meaning that this is what's causing the icon to clip)

Happens in grass using the grass' shape and alpha channel

Takes the shape of the net's alpha channel (eats through the icon and hides it in that pattern/shape)

Here are my in game settings:

I had this issue ages ago, either a reinstall or something fixed it but it came back again. Here's two videos to show what I mean in real time.

When this happened in Win 7 - I was able to make realize that this is 3d ish because the gunsight shape was recognizable from the way it cut/hid the icons and etc when I last had this issue. I recently (just yesterday) reinstalled BoX after completely uninstalling it yet it's still happening. I have no idea how I had fixed this months ago but it seems to be back again.

I had this months ago after a game update.

I could fix it by

- disabling all mods in JSGME and turning mods off ingame;

- deleting the update folder and let the Launcher analyze my game files and reinstall the last patch.

As I see you have BoX from Steam, maybe Steam install didn't properly remove all leftovers from previous sessions, and hence the glitch.

Search for "clean reinstall when using Steam". Just my two cents

Hi Sniperton,

Nope, no luck there. Mods, mods off, etc, doesn't do anything. Deleting the update folder doesn't help and neither does reinstalling since I've done it 4 times already.

Just wish I remember what caused it or how I even fixed it last time; one thing for sure it's not a faulty GPU or potato specs because I have been flying for a good 43 hours and have never had issues until here and there where this happened.. Just hope no one says ' ur gpu trash ' or something along those lines, because I'm able to get 50 FPS on the way I've set it up before.

Thanks for the help at least, seems like I'm a 1 in a 1,000,000 kind of a problem.. ?

Hola Sniperton,

no, no tuve suerte. Mods, mods off, etc., no hace nada.

The same happens to me, from the beginning without mods

Trust me, I had this game running on a GTS 450 with Medium Graphics at about 40 fps stable, with 25/30 on populated fields.

Resolution did not affect this thing ; it would still happen if I cranked up my resolution or knocked it even more down to 640*480.

However, I know what's the cause of it and it is in some way, resolution, but somewhere else. I will send you ( @jack333) a PM.

EDIT: @jack333 - I cannot send you PM ; please change your Forum profile settings.

Dear fellow ghost 129, sorry for my English, I am from Spain and I am using a google translator. I think I have found the solution, in the graphics configuration panel I had the dynamic resolution factor at 0.8, I have set it to 1.0 and voila, it has been fixed. I hope that it will also be solved for you. Greetings and good flight

Hi @jack333 - Do not worry about translator and etc - this is the beauty of the simulator ; bringing everyone from all regions and lands together with a similar goal/interest in topic.

To the topic of the problem I faced - this was solved via nVidia Control Panel and not through Resolution Scaling factor as you had shown, but, I hope your post will help others who rarely face this strange issue.

Regards and best wishes.
