Are you an old git ?

Can you tell me what this jigsaw represents ?

What this shows, kindled my love of WW 1 generally and WW 1 aviation in particular.

(....and yes, I am chuffed to bits that I found this in a charity shop, even more so, that doing jigsaws seems to count as quality time spent with my wife, so the best of both worlds ?)

I imagine the illustration must depict Biggles, but I don't see a jigsaw anywhere.

No, not Biggles.

I’ll give you a clue; 1970’s iconic BBC series, (available on YouTube)

That’s not Wings, is it?

Presumably Wings but I didn't recognise any faces.

Well done.  I remember the flying aircraft more than the actors.  Unlike “Aces High” I don’t think any were household names or became so later in their careers.

I’ll have to find time to sit down and watch the series again, the last time I watched it I was 10,  maybe it’s aged, or isn’t quite as spiffing as I recall, old programs often seem far slower paced than modern dramas.

Wings or All planes great or small up stairs or down stairs was a wonderful series.

Fantastic cast with exceptional writing. The story covered so much. It was very authentic and was spot on with so much of the experiences of people in uniform and out.

Most important .... they got the planes right.

Like all jigsaws, a profound waste of time.

Are, but you forget.  My wife, although reading her book ( murder most foul) beside me, still considered it quality time together.  In my book that's a win-win situation

I watched the series when it first aired (I was ** years old at the time) and a couple of years back got the series on DVD.  Obviously the production values betray the age of the show, but I found the writing and acting to be still pretty gripping.  Nicholas Jones' Captain Triggers is a fantastic creation.
