Collimating tool?

Anybody ever seen one of these before?

 

I think it might be a collimating tool to check guns convergance angles. But why not boresight the gun itself?

Even the MotorKanone can boresighted by removing the rear block in the cockpit floorwell

Hmm, I cannot see how that is being used to check a gun/cannon.. Maybe im wrong but why have an adjustment on the rear?

Nah, it's just a gun camera by Zeiss, albeit an early and rather bulky one. More photos can be found here:

Okay, so it's a gun camera. Odd, I've always thought of these being boxy camera shaped things and certainly not mounted on wings

Found this photo of an Me 109 being boresighted (From Wikipedia). Got to be the easiest way, provided the gadget aligns properly.
