Moderators CLOD AWC Posted March 7, 2020 Moderators CLOD Posted March 7, 2020 This is a sequel to my previous video about the German airborne invasion of Crete. I've tried to make this video more in depth and historically accurate. I intend to make more Fallschirmjager videos including Norway, probably Operation Stosser and possibly a better and larger scale version of Crete. Lemsip 14 6

Ockenburgh attack; my father was a 19 year old sergeant fighting there, and they "won" the (local) battle later that day. Some 96 men, one third got killed and wounded. Defenders had one shot WW1 rifles, a failing machine gun, and a single AAA gun nearby. One Ju52 crashed shot-up on the only runway, blocking it, and the rest dropped paras which partly got killed after landing. My father never really talked about this terrible fight. As follow up Hitler bombed Rotterdam on the 14th of may as revenge, also for the failure of the capture of the Afsluitdijk up North. After which the Dutch surrendered. Our brave queen had meanwhile disappeared to the UK. Unlike the Danish king who stayed put with his people. Called they say the boogie men in Germany every day, worried about hist Jewish countrymen. A lot of Danish Jews survived the war. Some history here: http://www.waroverholland.nl/index.php?page=ockenburg Edited March 10, 2020 by jollyjack 1 1

I based this video on much of the information from War Over Holland, really good source. 2
