Operation bodenplatte, capture?

How come when I bail out over enemy  territory as a Stuka pilot in Stalingrad I get captured, yet evade capture as a allied pilot over German territory every single time?

Perhaps because in the West you're more likely to find civilians sympathetic to the allies who help you escape back to your lines. That certainly wouldn't have been the case for Germans in Russia.

I have notice this as well as a P-47 pilot, part of the 494th Fighter-Bomber squadron...due to the nature of the P-47 missions (going in at 1,500m with enemy fighters always being above you) you take damage and or get shot down a lot...I must've been shot down at least 2 or 3 times deep into Enemy territory even and still wasn't captured. I didn't manage to get screen shots but I know Kommando Nowotny has just turned up in the north so I'm a few days into the Second phase of the campaign.

It were the chewing gums for the kids and the cigarettes for the adults. Here you can see Americans clearly had a supply problem in Europe. With enough chewing gum and cigarettes they easily would have made it to Berlin.

My dad still tells stories of the time he was dropped off in the middle of no where in West Germany for an "Evade" training scenario. He and another crew member ended up fat and happy with a German civilian couple's house (they were supposed to avoid contact).

I allways go squadron commander and set mission Flight altitude to at least 15.000 feet where the Thunderbolt performs much better...
