Sublime Posted March 5, 2020 Posted March 5, 2020 I cannot find two accounts I most definitely read on here One was the account of Hartmanns and Rudels surrender and the events on the US airfield. Please anyone I need this website or account. Second someone linked something before from a stuka pilot who estimated the 37mm stukas had about 1 t34 per stuka exvhange rate. I could really really use that source too. Ive searched to no avail. Someone help me out please?
PatrickAWlson Posted March 5, 2020 Posted March 5, 2020 There are books out on both Hartmann and Rudel. https://www.amazon.com/Blond-Knight-Germany-biography-Hartmann/dp/0830681892 https://www.amazon.com/Stuka-Pilot-Hans-Ulrich-Rudel/dp/1908476877 In Hartmanns case he stayed with his unit. They surrendered to Americans but were later turned over to Russians because the area in which they surrendered was considered "Russian zone". In Rudels case I believe that he put his mechanic in the back of a plane and flew to a western airfield. His point of surrender was so far west that he was not turned over to the Russians.

Thank you but both the questions people had linked accoints of both on websites Hartmanns Im pretty sure was on a US FG association page. It went into extreme detail about the mechanic and other ppl putting women in their. How Rudel refused to part with his KC at first etc. I need the account. For the stuka pilot this too was linked to something online. I appreciate it Pat - but Im after accounts Ive read from links posted *here* (and were free) I need them for purposes of writing on quora, winning a debate, and because Im writing a paper for fun on how useless aircraft were versus tanks in WW2. If anyone remembers the websites links pls let me kmow pls
