You should be fine. Just make sure to go into your UEFI and set the frequency manually. Otherwise it will likely only run it @ 1600mhz. That's usually the case from what I've seen.

Sometimes you can pick the memory profile too and it automatically sets voltages, frequencies and timings for you. It is in BIOS. I think the Intel uses XMP profiles, should help with the finding of this RAM setting.

actually it does use XMP profile in bios setting profile1 as suggested to another forum

i just upgrade my whole pc motherboard cpu ram even a new psu

the only thing that i didn't upgrade was my GPU,i have a GTX 580 and so far works like a dream for most sims

i was consider to upgrade it to a GTX 770 but some folks say to me not....i will not see any significant improvement and that should wait for next generation

Probably a wise choice. The supposed 800 series will be out this year from what I understand.

Also yeah I had forgotten about the XMP profiles. Makes life easy when setting up higher frequency RAM sets. As Flanker stated just select the appropriate profile that matches the RAM specs from your XMP portion of the BIOS display.

I also like to double check my RAM using CPU-Z. Not necessary but it makes me sleep better at night knowing its set properly. lol.
