Aircraft dissapears once the pilot dies

I've noticed that once the pilot get's killed, the aircraft will dissapear 10 or so seconds afterwards, often before hitting the ground. I'd like it to remain there, and not vanish mid-air.

I imagine this can be edited in is an .sds file setting, but not sure which one.

This is one of the game optimization which I don't understand because it kills immersion ,which should be something last to trade for few fps gain I think.
