Ai vulnerability vs real players

Am I the only one, who experience that the ai takes almost all ones ammo, to shoot down. Where in multiplayer you can down an aircraft with only one burst. You either kill or wound the pilot serverly or the kite begins to burn, right away.

Nah, not really. You are probably subconsciously playing better online because you KNOW it's a human versus in QM you know it's an AI. In QM you can afford to make mistakes and potentially "spray and pray" a little more.

Meat and metal, homie. 60% of the time it works every time.

This is exactly as I recall the situation in ROF and has made me resist spending for FC. My recollection from ROF is that there was a pattern in which various damage decals would be applied from my hits on the AI. After all those decals were exhausted there would be a PK and/or fire destruction of the AI. The record function made it easy to document this pattern. Online, it seemed that on the first burst from an enemy AC I was either wounded or my vision obscured by an oil leak. These experiences soured my interest in ROF.

There are AI online and I don't find the damage modelling on them any different to players online.

To clarify, are you talking about AI in SP or MP?

Sometimes it seems (to me) the opposite... AI dies quickly. (I always try to shoot at the pilot/engine area, don't bother shooting the wings).
They catch fire very often, too.

Man I wish I had this much luck in multiplayer...

Like others have said, the damage modeling seems to be the same everywhere.

Oh, I'm not the lucky one. But I experience rather often in MP, to be killed or my plane burst into fire in the first or second pass.

I'm still waiting to see something that in RoF always (positively) amazed me... when a wingtip section starts to "rip off" due to damage, finally flies off, but you still get enough structural integrity to carefully land, or even better: when you manage to keep it in place by flying *very* carefully (sometimes even skidding to keep the airflow less intense on the damaged wing). Seems to me that wings are a "complex" structure in RoF but a "single" one in FC.

LOL. The flying torpedo! ?

That's extreme case of visual damage not matching actual damage :).

I find the ai take way more than a real player, probably set up that way to be harder to shoot down, Ai is not that great at dog fighting.

I suggest removing the A.I or fix it: They just fly super high north / south over the mud attracting flak, making you waste time climbing only to find out it's an A.I who doesn't even respond when you install bullets into their wood and flesh.
