Only 3 mission types for the P-51 on career?

I noticed that in the P-51 Campaign of operation bodenplatte Im assigned only air to air missions, eight free hunt 

, escort or intercept. That’s if. It gets repetitive real quick. Why not

have some air to ground missions on occasion?

How long have you had the career going? I've flown ground attack in the 51 career, so it might be just luck of the draw or a matter of what squadron you're with.

8th Air Force P-51s do not fly ground attack missions - only those that are part of the 9th Air Force.

Hi Luke,

 

Was this changed somewhere during the last couple of months? In one of my first playthroughs with one of the 352 squadrons i had some ground attack missions. It was last year though.

Yes, it's a more recent change.

352nd did not begin flying armed recon/ground attack missions until Feb of 45.

If they were on the continent but not flying ground attack, then what did they fly?  Escort for mediums and fighter sweeps?

To elaborate, now that I can check my squadron history.

 

Feb 7th through 21st - Mission type not specified, most likely escort....lots of strafing, rail targets destroyed.

Feb 24th, more ground attacks

March 2nd, Escort - attacked an airfield near Prague on the way home.

I tried changing my Mustang to a 9th airforce squadren. But then the game doesnt give me any missions at all..

I switched to a 9th AF squadron (with a P-47 pic) and then the campaign keeps telling me no pending missions and keep skipping me to next day only to yet no missions again. So I switched back to my original campaign.

That sounds like a bug. I've swapped squadrons before and not seen that come up.

 

Are you squadron leader? Do you see missions and it just isn't assigning your pilot to them?

It`s probably a bug. You should write a report to here so devs can fix it:
