Zak Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 Dear Zak, Some ideas of what would be nice to see in the clouds section of an update... 1) How did they evolve - how did you decide how to make them the way they are now We needed the clouds to look better, to allow us creating overcast, to have less possible bugs, to be able to generate automatically and to consume less resources 2) What defines a "tier 2 cloud"...Hmm, I'm not sure I know what you're talking about 3) What kind of future advancements are planned (any weather, etc)I don't have all the plans about weather right now, so unfortunatelly this questions will have to wait a bit. But I can tell that we already have 50 weather conditions sets and that's quite a lot, isn't it? 4) Pictures of the various cloud types3 looks from above and 3 from below (light, medium and heavy clouds) 5) Comment on if AI see the clouds, etc...It sees clouds. It's a computer program inside of a computer program 6) Comment on cloud shadows, animation, etc...They drop nice shadows, they move if the wind blows. 4
SR-F_Winger Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 (edited) Awesome. Thanks for the update. They come along nicely! May I ask one thing. I am not sure but if i remember right one of your colleagues (if not you) mentioned that there will be several versions of new clouds. One of with wil feature entirely new technology. What we have right now - is that new tech or "only" improved old tech and you have some complete new clound engine "in your pockets"? EDIT: Anyhow. The screenshot you just showed already show the best clouds any sim currently available has!!! Edited April 23, 2014 by VSG1_Winger 1
senseispcc Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 Even at 7am this clouds are beautiful; click to view at full size!
ShamrockOneFive Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 Agreed! I've had some absolutely jaw dropping early morning and late evening moments with the clouds... just stunning work. Thanks Zak for answering some great questions about the clouds. The best I've seen in a simulation. I still figure you have some tweaks to do but they are really coming along nicely!
