Camel Fuel Problem

no matter what amount of fuel I put in the camel. my level glass looks to always be empty. I've tried using stock skins instead of custom... to make sure it wasn't something I painted over. I've tried it with vr and without to see if it was an issue like the valves on the engine turning slow. nothing has worked so far. any help would be much appreciated

This is the vertices tube, down in front of the throttle quadrant ?  When you have fuel it is a green colour, as it empties it turns grey.  It doesn’t show the last 30% in the tank, so when the green colour finally disappears, you still have 30% in your tank, after that it’s guess work for some reason.

Yeah, almost a complete waste of time that thing ?

I expect, real Camel pilots, would have known how long they could fly on a tank of gas and would have looked at the watch, in the cockpit, more.  I haven’t got time to look it up, but it should be easy enough to calculate how long you can fly for with a full tank and then a percentage there of.  It might even tell you in the spec’s.

Half of the problem is the head tracking restriction.

Looking down at such an angle, on a guage with no markings...

I expect in real life the pilots would be able to see it better.

Because you can’t see the last 30%, I expect time aloft was a better indicator than fuel quantity.  If memory serves, I think the Camel had a small, gravity fed, reserve of 15 min, long enough to give fair warning I would have thought, if caught short with the main tank, but I might be confusing it with the SE5a.

As Hagar states the gauge shows full when your fuel is anywhere above 35%, the level then starts to drop once below that and then shows empty once your fuel is beneath 30%. This is a departure from the gauge modelled in Rise of Flight but the consensus when I queried this matter back in August was that the gauge as modelled in Flying Circus is more likely to be the correct representation.

It's safety gauge: if

It's a safety gauge. If you can see the liquid in pipe, your plane is not aerobatic and is good for crusing only; do not enter combat.

It looks like a stealth post.
