SOLVED: Game won't launch Fullscreen if using second (or more) display

So I was scratching my head as to why the game would hang when launching fullscreen, turns out it only does so if using additional displays.

Does anyone know of any workarounds?

EDIT: OK just so we're all clear works fine in windowed mode (w/ all the caveats windowed mode brings) OR in fullscreen SINGLE display. Also fine in VR (hide HUD/UI for MAJOR FPS gains)

SOLVED: DisplayCal was interfering, added an exception to exe.

Er.....launch it in windowed mode?

Windowed mode is not the same as exclusive fullscreen, in many games you want to squeeze out every last frame/s, reduce latency and improve overall smoothness etc.

E.G. for FPSes and Flight Sims.

So.....have you tried it in Windowed mode?:)

I have no idea why it is not working for you, but maybe it helps to know that generally it does work. I am running it in fullscreen with a second monitor attached all the time.

In other words - keep trying, its not hopeless!

Well it seems the culprit was the display calibration software, DisplayCal. I added an exception for the IL2 exe and that seems to have fixed it.image.png.345867e252be83d74df965ea623e6939.png
