JaMz Posted February 19, 2020 Posted February 19, 2020 (edited) ~S~ Im having issues trying to map the stabilizer command to joystick buttons.. I have it on an a trim wheel atm and is working as it should but not really where I would like it to be... I want to map stabilizer pitch up/down commands and reset trimmers to normal Joystick buttons but I cannot get it to work. I guess these two commands can be mapped to normal buttons? I don't think the reset trimmers button works for the stabilizer trim. What happens when you try and map the stabilizer to the joystick buttons? Does the program just not let you map it, or can you map it but it has no effect in-game? It could be a conflict in your button mapping, that's a common culprit. 1
JaMz Posted February 19, 2020 Author Posted February 19, 2020 (edited) Its allowing me to map it but has no effect in game, its strange. There are no command conflicts and have tried multiple buttons. Just so I'm not going mad, that is the correct commands for stabilizer and you are supposed to be able to map it to buttons right? I cannot even get them to work if I map them to keyboard.. Do they even work when mapped to keys/buttons? Edited February 19, 2020 by Playerone

IIRC there are two key binds for each trim now - axis or switches. Some planes have switches, some have an axis wheel. The same goes for the stabilizer trim. Because I could never remember which planes had which, and for simplicity, what I did was I mapped buttons the trim pitch up/pitch down for all the bindings So like Button 1 is mapped to Pitch Up Switch and Pitch Up Axis on trimmers and stabilizer, and button 2 is mapped to pitch down for the same. I'm not sure if I'm explaining this correctly or even remembering properly, its been a few months since I fiddled with it. But it might be worth a try. Also what planes are you trying this in? Yes I understand what you're saying and have tried this... So Elevator and stabilizer trim i have mapped to the same trim wheel on joystick. This is for the 109 and as I say the stabilizer mapped to a trim wheel works fine, but for some weird reason I cannot have the stabilizer mapped to buttons or keys. stabilizer pitch up and stabilizer pitch down are the 2 commands Im trying to map to keys. EDIT... I unmapped the trim wheel and used the sane command 'Stabilizer axis' which I then mapped to an axis (top and lower button on throttle) which now works as it should. Thanks for your help ~S Edited February 19, 2020 by Playerone

Can you take a screenshot or 2 of the trimmer key bindings and post them? Maybe there is a conflict I can help spot.

Not sure what the problem could be. Does it work when you use keys from the keyboard? Could it be an issue with the joystick itself? Do the buttons you are trying to map to the stab trim work for other key bindings?
