VA_DontSnk Posted February 18, 2020 Posted February 18, 2020 I'm running a i7 4790k at 4.5 GHZ 16Gigs of ddr3, SSD and a 1660ti 6GB XC. I play on a single 27" monitor at 1080p 60HZ with no desire to get into higher resolutions or VR right now. I run most triple A titles on high/ultra with good performance and IL2 ran good on ultra until bodenplatte came out. I would have thought my pc would be more than enough for 1080p ultra settings but I assume they are making changes to the game engine now? I was gonna wait until Christmas next year to build a new rig to stay ahead of the next gen consoles but I also like playing il2 with its stunning visuals.

I have the same CPU 16gig DDR3 and a GTX 980 SC playing in ULTRA and have more than enough...

Based on the above statement I highlighted, I would say you are safe to hold off another year, as long as all the games you like to run are satisfactory.
VA_DontSnk Posted February 18, 2020 Author Posted February 18, 2020 I get lots of microstudders when getting shot at or flying low to the ground ever since bodenplatte came out.

I have an almost identical setup (AMD equivalent) with a MSI GTX 1660ti 6GB. BoBp runs fine for me. I do have 32 GB of RAM though. If anything you might want to up your RAM - both in GB and if possible, MHz speed - and see if that works better. Make sure your motherboard is compatible first. 1

Maybe it's time for a fresh install of windows. Your system should play be able to play smoothly at 1080p 60. But try dropping all the setting to low once first and see if the microstutters disappear.

Online or off? I get this online a little too, though recent patches have improved it somewhat. I have seen it proposed that the stutters are due to a memory loading issue - when the game tries to load the more detailed textures BoBP has in its map it causes issues. So RAM speed, more than memory size, may be an issue there? What speed does your DD3 RAM run at? Flying low to the ground even on Balanced with a lot of things turned down my system uses upwards of 7.0 GB of memory just for Il-2. I too am looking at upgrading my rig though yours already I think might be better than the one I am going to build lol.
