T16000M + Track IR5 Set Up - Help requested

Hi, 

 

I have just bought myself a steep learning curve (IL2 BOS, Track IR5 and T16000M). I have played basic flight sims before with MS PP2 stick, never used TIR, and IL2 is much more complicated that Air Attack that I played in the 90's until it finished. 

 

I have spent the past few days looking at posts, videos, manuals etc and found so much info and different views that I am confused.

 

Can anyone point me to some good info on using  TIR / T16000M together which will suggest a good starting point for key bindings. e.g. I read that with TIR you can assign POV Hat to Trim controls?

 

Also, I'm not sure how TIR interacts with things like Padlock which I would still like to use.

 

Any help greatly appreciated.
